Beauty Review: Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquers

So I know I am late to the party as far as this product goes but I recently wore one of these colors in a video reminding me that I had never actually reviewed them.

I had first heard about this product a few months ago and I actually received 3 of the colours I own for my birthday way back in March. I now have four of them thanks to a very lovely goody bag I received at a Belfast bloggers event.

The four colours I currently own are:

1. Big Bang- the neon red at the top of the picture
2. Stellar- A neon coral toned pink
£. Apocaliptic- a neon fushia
4.Celestial- a nude toned pink which is one of those your lips but better kind of colours

As I hope you can tell from the swatches below these products are incredibly pigmented, when you apply them they only need 1 coat to show up very opaque on the lips which is great but also if you place a tiny bit on the middle of your lip you can still blend it into a nice subtle stain.

My own criticism of the product is the taste, it tastes very much like cucumber which might appeal to some people but I really don't enjoy this at all. However it is very easily looked past because of the quality and colour payoff of the product. As most of you will know I am not at all a high end make up kinda gal but I think that this quality is easily comparable to what I have tried from much more expensive brands.

However one of the major pluses for me is the not matte not glossy finish, when first applied there is a glossy sheen but as the colour dries into your lips ( not that the product is in any way drying but when it starts to settle on your lips if that makes sense) it becomes more of a matter finish. Another bonus is that on me at least the product fades away evenly so that you dont have that horrible lipstick lip across your lips.

The packaging of the product also is a winner from me, a very sleek design with a "fancy top" minimal but makes for easy transportation! The product applicator is the usual dophur applicator, the tip is great for even distribution of the product.

When I first received the 3 for my birthday the range of colours only included about 5 shades but now they have expanded to around 10 shades. On a recent trip to superdrug I spied a gorgeous purple shade called Galaxy and the YouTube renound Luna which have both taken a place on my payday treats list.If you are in the UK you can pick up the product in many stores for example Boots so I have included a link for boots so you can see the full colour range:

If you have tried the product what do you think???

I can definitely see these becoming a cult classic and with the tiny £5.99 price tag they are definitely set to take the lip colour world by storm!
